Jenny & Jeremy's Backyard Wedding in Downtown St. John's // Newfoundland Wedding Photographers

Many people's idea of a dream wedding involves grand settings and imagery pulled from the pages of a story book. As beautiful as that is, Jenny and Jeremy's wedding shows that a fairytale can begin in the most personal and intimate of settings - their own home.

The pair own a floral design and landscaping company, so all the details of their intimate and gorgeous backyard ceremony came from them, a co-worker and a friend.

In the morning, Jenny shared with me journal entries she had written during their relationship. Their love and affection for each other is genuine and a joy be around.

The magical ceremony was made even more bespoke by the presence of only very close friends and family, the groom's son, and special readings by Jenny's dad and best friend.

While the ceremony and reception were held in their backyard, the dinner was held at Oliver's Restaurant in downtown St. John's, the location of Jenny and Jeremy's very first date. Love comes full circle!

The reception itself was as fun, unique and laid back as the couple themselves, including a campfire and "lightsaber" battles with pool noodles! Because many of the bride's guests were not from Newfoundland, there was even a "Screeching In" ceremony to officially welcome them to the province!

It's such an honour to be able to chronicle this new chapter in Jenny and Jeremy's story. And to think that, before we met one day, they weren't going to hire a photographer at all! If their wedding is any indication, their love can only grow from here!
